Visiting the Museum

The main attraction of our complex is the museum in the Big Palace with a multimedia exhibition "Three Centuries of Life at the Lomnica Palace". On the two floors of the palace and under the vaults of the basement, there are 18 rooms thematically furnished with historical furniture, works of art and objects of daily use from different eras. Each of the rooms, from the study of the famous 18th Century flax merchant Christian Mentzel, the elegant dining room of ambassador Carl Gustav Ernst von Küster from the 19th century, or the historical kitchen from the Baroque period with its impressive furnishings under a vaulted ceiling, will introduce visitors to an authentic atmosphere of bygone eras. This real journey through time begins in 1720 and ends in the communist era with an authentic, original school classroom from the 1950s-60s, a time when the palace housed a primary school.
